APM opens Africa/Mideast/India regional office

APM opens Africa/Mideast/India regional office    APM Terminals has inaugurated its new head office for its Africa, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent region, the container terminal operator said over the weekend.
   The new office is in Dubai, which APM Terminals picked for its 'strategic location as a regional business hub with a major and well-connected airport,' the company said.
   “The Africa, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent region is an important market that holds good growth potential for our customers in the years ahead,' said Kim Fejfer, APM Terminals chief executive officer. 'In line with our strategic plan, this new office places our team closer to markets, decision makers and government leaders.'
   The company operates 13 terminals in region — six existing terminals along the West Coast of Africa (with one more in development), three in the Middle East, two in India and on in Sri Lanka. Included in that number are key regional transshipment hubs in Salalah and Colombo.
