Direct ChassisLink will lease chassis to drayage companies, ocean carriers, marine terminals and railroads. Chassis that originate from any of the New York-New Jersey port area marine or rail terminals starting Aug. 3 will be subject to the new Direct ChassisLink Inc. model. Drayage companies must have a Direct ChassisLink Inc. lease agreement in place by July 31 to take full advantage of the new model.
A drayage company will be able to utilize the same Direct ChassisLink Inc. chassis multiple times in one day for any ocean carrier moves. They will be charged a daily per-diem rate.
Maersk Line containers will be moved under their current Maersk Line interchange agreements.
