JacksonvilleÆs TraPac terminal on track Officials from Mitsui O.S.K Line, the Jacksonville Port Authority and City of Jacksonville said at a Tokyo news conference Monday that the new container terminal being built for MOL is on schedule, and new, independent logistics services companies are already moving in as a result.
   The new terminal is expected to be operational in early 2009, officials said. In a joint statement, MOL and the port said: 'Terminal construction is going well, and cargo owners and logistics companies are already moving into the surrounding area.'
   MOL sees the new terminal as a key gateway for future East Coast all-water services, providing access to the Southeast and beyond through existing rail and highway connections in Jacksonville.
   'The new terminal has a strategic location and excellent inland connections to railroads and highways. It can accommodate two large containerships on berth at the same time, and will be operated by MOL's group company, TraPac Inc., which has extensive experience and know-how in container terminal operation on the North American West,' the joint statement said.
