Trimble gains PeopleNet CEO

Trimble has appointed PeopleNet Chief Executive Officer Ron Konezny as the new general manager of Trimble’s worldwide Transportation and Logistics (T&L) division.
Konezny had been with PeopleNet, which specializes in integrated onboard computing and mobile fleet communication systems in North America, since its founding in 1994 and was appointed CEO in July 2007.
The announcement follows Trimble’s acquisition of PeopleNet. PeopleNet provides fleets with software and hardware services to manage regulatory compliance, fuel costs, driver safety, and customer service. Trimble said this purchase plus its previous acquisitions of Punch Telematix and Tata AutoComp Mobility Telematics, from Europe and India respectively, will continue to strengthen its portfolio for emerging and developed markets.
“Since establishing PeopleNet in 1994, Ron has positioned the company as a fast-growing wireless tracking and mobile communications provider in the U.S. transportation industry. His expanded leadership role will be an asset in growing our global presence as more fleets source solutions internationally,” said Bryn Fosburgh, vice president of Trimble, in a statement.
Brian McLaughlin, who served as PeopleNet’s COO for the past four years, has been appointed president of PeopleNet.
