MOL reinstates NKX service

   The shipping company MOL has reinstated its weekly NKX Asia-Indian Subcontinent service after splitting it into two loops called NCX and KPX in May 2011.
   The NCX and KPX services have been discontinued. 
   The Singapore-based NKX will restart on Oct. 6 with the vessel MOL Direction departing Singapore.
   Both Samudera and OOCL who were previously on the NCX and KPX will continue their participation on the NKX, with Samudera operating one vessel and OOCL taking slots.
   The NKX operates with a 21-day roundtrip voyage, with three vessels averaging 4,098 TEUs. The service rotation is Singapore, Mumbai, Karachi, Pipavav, Colombo, Port Kelang and Singapore. 
   The previous KPX service ended on Sept. 29 with the sailing of Lindavia. It operated on a 21-day roundtrip voyage with three vessels averaging 2,423 TEUs. The rotation for the KPX was Penang, Port Kelang, Singapore, Karachi, Pipavav, Colombo and Penang. 
   The NCX service had direct calls in China. It originally operated on a 35-day roundtrip voyage with five vessels averaging 3,783 TEUs. Three out of the five vessels previously deployed on the NCX now operate in the reconstituted NKX. The rotation for the NCX was Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, Cochin, Colombo, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai. – ComPair Data, Bessie Howard
