Hamburg terminal receives five next-generation cranes    Eurogate Container Terminal at the port of Hamburg Tuesday received five next-generation container cranes from the Chinese manufacturer Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Co. Ltd.
   The container cranes each have a dead weight of 2,015 tons and reach about 260 feet high with their booms down.
   The cranes are being installed at Eurogate Berth 1, which has recently had the quay wall extended forward by 115 feet and the dock brought to a draft of 53 feet. Similar modernization work is scheduled for Berths 2 and 3. When work at all three terminals is completed the Eurogate Terminal at Hamburg will be able to handle more than 4 million TEUs per year by 2010.
   Jointly with Contship Italia, Eurogate operates nine terminals, from the North Sea to the Mediterranean. There are now 23 such cranes in the Eurogate-Contship Italia network.
