PWC wins petrochemical logistics contract

PWC wins petrochemical logistics contract    PWC Logistics said it has won a contract from the Equate Petrochemical Co. to handle inbound logistics for construction materials to build a new ethylene processing plant in Kuwait.
   Relying heavily on two of its recent acquisitions, project cargo specialist Trans-Oceanic Shipping and forwarder GeoLogistics, the Kuwaiti-based logistics provider will be responsible for long-haul transportation, customs clearance and delivery of construction materials such as pipes, valves, pressure vessels, and cooling systems for the Equate-2 plant.
   PWC did not announce terms of the contract, but Bahrain’s Gulf Daily News last month quoted a PWC official on its Web site as saying the contract was for three years and that PWC received a sizeable portion of the $1.3 billion logistics project.
   Equate is a joint venture between Kuwait’s Petrochemical Industries Co. and Dow Chemical subsidiary, Union Carbide.
