The plane, already owned by ANA, is the first 767-300 to undergo the Boeing Converted Freighter program which the Chicago-based airplane manufacturer launched in 2005. ANA initially placed three firm orders for the conversions and has since exercised four additional BCF options in a contract that is estimated to be worth $136 million over 10 years.
The conversion work is being performed by ST Aviation Services Co., or SASCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Paya Lebar, Singapore-based ST Aerospace. SASCO previously completed passenger-to-freighter conversions of 757-200SFs, DC-10s, MD-10s and MD-11s.
   The 767-300BCF conversion entails:
'We are delighted to take delivery of the first 767-300BCF. It will be a key aircraft in the expansion of our cargo operation and express delivery services to countries neighboring Japan,' said Shinsuke Maki, ANA's senior vice president of engineering and maintenance. 'The 767 has long been the workhorse of the ANA passenger fleet.'
ANA's fleet of 171 aircraft lists 33 standard 767-300s and 21 extended range 767-300ER variants.
