IATA plans to expand Miami offices The International Air Transport Association plans to expand its Latin American and Caribbean regional office in Miami, relocating employees and consolidating its U.S., Canada, and Latin America offices into Miami.
   IATA has committed to a 10,000-square-foot expansion of its offices in the Waterford at Blue Lagoon building near Miami International Airport.
   The Miami-based Beacon Council said it assisted IATA by providing information on Enterprise Zone sales tax benefits and with employee relocation information. The Beacon Council said the expansion represents a $2.5 million capital investment by IATA and will create 56 new jobs in Miami within three years.
   IATA is a global trade organization representing more than 240 airlines from around the world, representing 94 percent of scheduled international air traffic. Its world headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland.
