This multifaceted program features a new Web site and an expanded marketing campaign that's designed to promote TAPA's members and improve collaboration among them.
TAPA is a global coalition of manufacturers, shippers, carriers, insurers, service providers, law enforcement and government agencies concerned with the risks of criminal activity against HVTT cargo. Members work together to prevent theft and other crimes against the transportation supply chain by sharing information, developing supply chain security standards, and cooperating with government agencies. These standards, and TAPA's certification of supply chain facilities, play a critical role in the fight against cargo crime.
Designed by Audion Marketing of Austin, Texas, TAPA's new Web site features industry research and resources that help its more than 400 members set and raises standards for facility security and transport.
By collaborating with TAPA EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and TAPA Asia to share resources and information, TAPA helps companies that make and ship electronics, pharmaceuticals, clothing, food, auto parts, building supplies and any other high-valued cargo, exchange data and intelligence information on a global basis, to improve the security and reliability of their supply chain. TAPA's new Web site provides members with new capabilities including:
' Integrated mapping and route planning features.
' Detailed information for certified sites.
' Improved search features and expanded member descriptions with video, maps and other images.
' Enhanced security, including tiered members-only access.
' An events calendar with improved registration features.
' Full CMS for administrative updating and control.
' An interactive news section with member feedback on articles and research.
'Cargo theft is a daily problem in many industries that accounts for billions of dollars in lost revenue,' said TAPA Board Member Taya Tuggle, in a statement. 'The initiatives we've announced will help manufacturers, shippers, law enforcement and government agencies work together more effectively to reduce losses in the supply chain, and help companies preserve their brand integrity, minimize customer inconvenience, and ultimately improve their bottom lines.'
