The company and Chinese officials Thursday signed an agreement to open a factory in China that will be able to build four of the planes per month by 2011. The factory is expected to complete its first aircraft by 2009 and to have produced 300 of the jets by 2016.
Also, Airbus said Wednesday that it has finalized orders for 86 A320 that were part of a bulk order announced last year.
