The Bush administration nominated Buttrey for STB commissioner on Nov. 3, 2003. He was confirmed by the Senate on May 21, and will serve a the remainder of a five-year term expiring on Dec. 31, 2008.
Prior to joining the STB, Buttrey served as an independent consultant in Memphis, Tenn. Prior to that, he served 22 years with FedEx in a variety of positions.
