ECS expands to Dubai

ECS expands to Dubai General air freight sales agency European Cargo Services has opened an office in the Dubai Airport Free Zone, its first wholly owned office in the Middle East region.
      The office, Globe Air Cargo FZE, will provide cargo sales services for Qantas Airways, SN Brussels, Ukraine International Airlines and Africa West.
   ECS has appointed Shiranka Leo, who was with Singapore Airlines Cargo for 24 years, as country manager in Dubai. He reports directly to Tobias Siegl, managing director of Globe Air Cargo FZE.
   'The UAE is such a buoyant and fast-growing cargo market, and it is important that we have our own office there to provide the representation services our airline customers require from us,' Siegl said. 'Further growth will widen the scope of our network, and we can fulfill our mission to optimize airline cargo capacities and earnings and also facilitate intercontinental airfreight transit for the benefit of freight forwarders.”
