Sea Star recognizes top employees

Sea Star recognizes top employees Sea Star Line has selected its 2006 employee of the year honorees, naming Susan Bowen, Jacksonville-based director of training and development, the overall employee of the year, and Glorimar Fernandez, equipment control coordinator at Puerto Nuevo in San Juan, as the Puerto Rico employee of the year.
   Sea Star, headquartered in Jacksonville, specializes in the Jones Act trade to Puerto Rico, offering sailings from both Jacksonville and Port Everglades to San Juan. The awards were announced by Frank Peake, Sea Star president and chief executive officer.
   Bowen reports to vice president organizational development Scott Semko, who commented: “Susan is an exceptional employee, encouraging each individual to grow to their fullest potential. She has won the admiration of both her peers and managers and deserves to be recognized as the 2006 recipient.”
   Arturo Rodriguez, the port manager at Puerto Nuevo, said of Fernandez: “She is an exceptional employee, has a strong sense of duty, a consistent approach to everything she does. She has won the admiration of both her peers and managers and deserves to be recognized as the 2006 recipient.'
