Italian metal supplier taps Amber Road for restricted party screening

The Danieli Group, a major supplier of parts and plants to the metals industry, will use the global trade management software provider’s on-demand solution.    The Italian equipment and plants supplier to the metal industry Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche SpA will use restricted party screening software from the global trade management solutions provider Amber Road, the software company said.
   Headquartered in North-Eastern Italy, the Danieli Group includes more than 40 subsidiaries globally, with workshops and implementation projects across the world. The company said it needed to enhance its compliance controls to support current operations and future growth. It will use Amber Road’s Restricted Party Screening tool, part of the its broader Export On-Demand product that includes product classification, export controls and export license management.
   “Besides the fact that our company attaches particular importance to corporate responsibility issues, global compliance is more and more becoming a key factor for success in our market,” said Gianluca Buoro, Danieli Group compliance manager. “We found a partner that fulfills our global requirements for optimization and automation of sanction and embargo compliance processes.”
   The company said Amber Road’s Europe-based hosting services also played a role in its decision. Amber Road will implement the solution in several phases, with the eventual aim of covering Danieli’s worldwide operations. The solution will be hosted in Amber Road’s high-security facilities in Frankfurt, a new facility opened in September 2015, to meet the specific needs of European companies for compliance with EU data protection and privacy regulations.
