Cargologic to assume Swiss WorldCargo’s Lugano-Agno handling activities

Cargologic to assume Swiss WorldCargoÆs Lugano-Agno handling activities Cargologic Freight Services AG, part of the Rhenus Group, will from Jan. 1 take over all of Swiss WorldCargo's air freight handling activities at Lugano-Agno airport and at the acceptance point of Bioggio.
   Also as part of the deal, Cargologic will take on Swiss WorldCargo's staff and entire airside and landside air cargo handling business in Ticino.
   'Air freight handling activities do not belong to Swiss WorldCargo's core business; therefore, we believe Cargologic is the ideal partner for the development of the cargo business in Lugano Agno and Bioggio,' said Urs Stulz, Swiss WorldCargo’s regional manager Switzerland.
   'We are sure that the company's expansion plans will bring a lot of benefits to our customers in Ticino as well as to our employees,' Stulz said.
   Cargologic employs about 1,000 people at Frankfurt, Zurich, Basel, Berne, Bratislava, Parchim and Lugano airports, and dispatches some 500,000 tons of freight annually.
