Central Freight buys assets of Oregon LTL    Central Freight Lines Inc. said it has acquired six terminals as well as some trucks and trailers from Eastern Oregon Fast Freight Inc. for $10 million cash, giving it access to the Pacific Northwest market.
   Eastern Oregon Fast Freight is a less-than-truckload, or piece shipment, carrier that operates 21 terminals (6 owned and 15 leased) in Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Central will takeover the leases on the other facilities.
   Central is a large LTL with service from the Midwest to the West Coast.
   “We have targeted the Pacific Northwest as a region for expansion because of strong freight flows between the Northwest and our existing regions and favorable competitive dynamics,” said Central President Bob Fasso in a statement. He said Central planned to begin service in a limited number of locations towards the end of the second quarter, but moved up its implementation schedule when Eastern Oregon assets became available.
