ESPMC-WITASS raising bunker surcharges

ESPMC-WITASS raising bunker surcharges Shipping lines in the ESPMC-WITASS conference, covering the Europe/Caribbean/South America trade, said their latest bunker price monitoring exercise has triggered the need for higher bunker surcharges for December sailings.
   The U.S. dollar and euro-denominated surcharges will be $461/461 euros (from $415/415 euros) per TEU, $922/922 euros (from $830/830 euros) per FEU. The per-freight-ton surcharge will go up to $23/23 euros (from $21/21 euros).
   Also, the conference has set the low sulphur fuel surcharge at $5/4 euros per TEU for shipments to and from Baltic Sea ports, Hamburg to Le Havre range, Scandinavian countries, Poland, and the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Previously, that charge was inclusive of the BAF.
