Hellenic Carriers takes delivery of Supramax    Greek dry bulk shipping company Hellenic Carriers Ltd. has taken delivery of a 50,326-deadweight-ton Supramax vessel it agreed to buy last October for $62 million.
   The Athens, Greece-based company funded the purchase of the 2000-built Konstantinos D (previously known as Aegean Hawk) with $30 million from the net proceeds of its initial public offering and the remaining $32 million through a debt facility from Piraeus Bank.
   The vessel on March 28 entered into a time charter with Korea Line Corp. for 24 to 26 months, at a gross rate of $64,245 per day for the first year and thereafter at a gross rate of $48,250 per day.
   Following delivery of the Konstantinos D, Hellenic Carriers' fleet comprises three Panamaxes, one Handymax and one Supramax with a total carrying capacity of 298,761 dwt. The company expects to take delivery of another Panamax vessel by the end of May.
