UPS board nominates AMEX CFO as director

UPS board nominates AMEX CFO as director UPS Inc.'s board of directors has nominated Gary Crittenden, American Express executive vice president and chief financial officer, as a director.
   Crittenden will face election at Atlanta-based UPS's annual shareowners meeting on May 10.
   Crittenden became American Express CFO in June 2000, after serving as CFO of Monsanto Co. and Sears Roebuck Co. He began his career in consulting with Bain & Co., where he worked on a range of strategic projects in the United States and Germany. He currently serves on Staples Inc.'s board of directors.
   Crittenden is set to replace long-time UPS director Gary MacDougal, who will not stand for re-election due to the company’s age guidelines for board members. MacDougal joined the UPS board in 1973 and is now the senior member of the board.
