Seaboard outlines new bunker charges Seaboard Marine today said it will implement a series of bunker fuel charge increases for the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Central America, effective Nov. 4.
   Seaboard's announcement is the latest in a series of carrier fuel surcharge increases slated for November in the Caribbean and Central America trades.
   The planned increase for shipments between the United States and the Dominican Republic is in conjunction with a nonbinding bunker charge proposal for members of the Hispaniola Discussion Agreement. That increase will be $25 for 20-foot equipment, including containers and trailers, $50 for 40-foot equipment, and $65 for 45-foot equipment.
   In a separate announcement covering Haiti, Seaboard said the bunker charge would increase $48 to $192 for 20-foot equipment, by $96 to $368 for 40-foot equipment, and by $108 to $417 for 45-foot equipment.
   Finally, Seaboard said it would follow the recommendations of the Central America Discussion Agreement for fuel surcharges on shipments between the United States and Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama. That will come to $25 for 20-foot equipment, $50 for 40-footer, and $65 for 45-foot equipment.
