Safmarine joins new Simatech India/China loop    Liner carrier Safmarine said Wednesday it is joining a new Simatech service between China and India as a slot buyer.
   The FMX service starts Feb. 17 with a rotation of Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tanjung Pelepas, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Karachi, Colombo and Xingang.
   'Apart from a new direct service from North China (Xingang, Qingdao) and East China (Ningbo) to India (Nhava Sheva) and Pakistan (Karachi), the FMX service will offer our customers improved transit times, by an average of five days for shipments from Xingang, Qingdao and Ningbo,' said Safmarine Trade Director Kris Van Den Brande.
   According to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data, Safmarine, a wholly owned subsidiary of the A.P. Moller – Maersk Group, takes slots on two other services between China and India at present: the Maersk Line/CMA CGM FM3 loop and Maersk's Chennai Express.
   The new service would also be the first connection between China and India for Simatech, according to ComPair Data.
