Schneider National to unload flatbed unit    Schneider National, the largest U.S. truckload carrier, said Monday it plans to sell its Specialized Division to Maverick USA, the parent company of flatbed carrier Maverick Transportation.
   Green Bay, Wis.-based Schneider said the sale will allow it to focus on transportation and logistics services for Fortune 1000 companies. Schneider Specialized is one of the largest flat-glass haulers in North America, providing service to all major glass producers as well as shippers of other types of industrial freight.
   Maverick, Little Rock., Ark., will acquire 380 tractors, 870 trailers, more than 425 drivers, loading equipment and several facilities, including ones in Laurinburg, N.C., and Knoxville, Tenn.
   Maverick’s new line of business will be called Maverick Specialized and continue to operate from the current location in Green Bay. Craig Brown of Schneider Specialized, a 16-year industry veteran, will serve as general manager of Maverick Specialized and oversee the transition.
   Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The companies expect to finalize the sale by the end of July.
