NYK, China Shipping in joint venture at Dalian Port

NYK, China Shipping in joint venture at Dalian Port NYK said it has entered into a joint venture with Dalian Port and China Shipping, for the development and operation of a container terminal during the third phase of Dalian’s Dayao Bay terminal expansion.
   The structure of the deal and other details are still subject to negotiations and approval by the Chinese government.
   NYK noted that it has been focusing on potential business opportunities in Dalian, participating in an April in an Initial Public Offering for Dalian Port Co. and becoming the second-largest shareholder with a holding of about 4 percent.
   NYK also jointly runs a roll-on/roll-off terminal with Dalian Port Corp. that began operations in July in Dayao Bay.
