FreightDesk signs deal with Jordan FreightDesk Technologies said its Jordanian subsidiary, NAFITH Logistics, has entered into a 10-year agreement with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) to coordinate the movement of commercial trucks at the port of Aqaba, Jordan's sole seaport.
   Initial employment will exceed 200, and revenues during the term are forecast at more than $30 million.
   A truck control system using FreightDesk’s FDfolio logistics data management and cargo security software platform, will be used to manage, monitor, and direct truck traffic throughout the Port of Aqaba.
   The software reduces wait time for trucks and port-related trucking costs. Because the system verifies licensing information and logistics data, it also provides significant security benefits.
   Under the new agreement, NAFITH will be responsible for gate and yard operations and fee collection in addition to the information technology platform.
   “This validates our efforts to expand internationally and to leverage our core technology assets to tackle acute problems on the ground,” said Rob Quartel, FreightDesk chief executive and chairman. “We look forward to expanding our footprint with ASEZA, in other parts of Jordan, and into additional countries. The concepts underlying TCS have value in the U.S. as well, to address security and traffic concerns in American ports.”
