Crowley restructures marine arms, revamps management    Oakland-based Crowley Maritime Corp. is merging two marine divisions and appointing a single management for the combined unit.
   The ship assist and escort services and the energy and marine services units will be combined into one group.
   Heading this group will be John Douglass, promoted to senior vice president and general manager. Douglass has been with Crowley for 18 years, most recently heading the Puerto Rico and Caribbean liner services business unit. He will relocate from Jacksonville to Seattle.
   Rob Grune has been named as Douglass’ replacement as senior vice president and general manager of Puerto Rico and Caribbean liner services business unit. Grune joined Crowley and was appointed vice president and general manager, ship assist and escort services in 2001. He will move from Seattle to Jacksonville.
   Rocky Smith has been appointed senior vice president and general manager for all of Crowley’s petroleum transportation and distribution business. This new business unit comprises Crowley’s Marine Transport Lines subsidiary and the company’s petroleum transportation, distribution and sales business on the West Coast and Alaska. These activities were operated and managed separately. Smith has worked at Crowley for 24 years.
