BAX GLOBAL GETS CLASS A CERTIFICATION IN XIAMEN

BAX GLOBAL GETS CLASS A CERTIFICATION IN XIAMEN    BAX Global, the international transportation and supply-chain management provider, was recently awarded “Class A Company” certification by Xiamen Customs in the Xiangyu Free Trade Zone.
   The certification enables BAX Global Xiamen to receive benefits from Chinese customs, such as faster release of goods, inspections, guarantees, duties and tariff reductions, tax refunds.
   BAX Global achieved the certification by having a minimum of two years of continuous operations in the trade zone, a professional management team, strict adherence to customs and legal operations, according to Xiamen Customs officials.
   Over the past two years, BAX Xiamen's import/export quantities have represented about 60 percent of total volumes through the Xiangyu Free Trade Zone.
   BAX Global also said it has appointed Steve Whittingham as regional managing director for Thailand and Indo China, responsible for managing the company's Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar operations. He had served as managing director of BAX Thailand since 1999.
