Europe/Caribbean/South America carriers to raise bunker surcharges

Europe/Caribbean/South America carriers to raise bunker surcharges    Three carrier groups covering the Europe/Caribbean/South America trade — The Association of West India Trans-Atlantic Steam Ship Lines, the European/South Pacific and Magellan Conference, and the New Caribbean Service Rate Agreement — will raise their bunker surcharges for the month of June.
   The NCSRA and WITASS bunker surcharges for westbound and eastbound June sailings will be $273 (from $250) for 20-foot containers and $546 (from $500) for 40-foot containers and $14 (from $13) per freight ton.
   The ESPMC’s bunker surcharges will be $257 (from $238) per 20-foot container, $514 (from $476) per 40-foot container, and $13 (from $12) per freight ton.
   ESPMC carriers are CMA CGM, Compania Sud Americana de Vapores, Hamburg Sud, Hapag-Lloyd and “K” Line.
   Members of WITASS and the NCSRA are CMA-CGM, CSAV, Hamburg Sud and Hapag-Lloyd.
