First supply chain students graduate from Malaysian institute

   The Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI) has graduated its first class of students from its nine-month master’s program, according to the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics.
   The class of 2013 consists of 16 students from eight countries including India, China, Philippines, and the United States, many of whom have prior professional experience. More than 80 percent of the students secured new job offers before graduation. Employers include Accenture, the World Bank, Amazon.com, Cummins, Damco, and Campbell Soup. Their median salary jumped 2.5 times, with each student receiving two job offers on average.
   MISI was created in March 2011 near Kuala Lumpur under the direction of MIT’s Center for Transportation and Logistics. The Boston-based MIT CTL has similar supply chain educational institutes in Spain and Colombia. Together, the four locations form a network of higher education institutions that share research and a common curriculum. Students travel to Boston and Spain to collaborate on supply chain projects.
