Another Mumbai collision sees naval ship sunk    An Indian naval ship sunk off the coast of Mumbai Sunday after a collision with a small containership, an accident that echoed a collision in summer between an MSC ship and a bulk carrier.
   Mumbai police are investigating the collision between the 1,524’TEU Nordlake, owned by German ship owner Klaus Oldendorff, and the INS Vindhyagiri, an Indian warship.
   Indian naval officials said Monday the Nordlake may have been trying to avert a third ship, the Sea Eagle, another naval ship accompanying the Vindhyagiri.
   “There was immense confusion between the crew of the Nordlake and the Sea Eagle,’ Indian Vice Adm. Sanjeev Bhasin told the Times of India.
   In August, the containership MSC Chitra was left severely crippled in a collision with a bulker in a navigation channel leading to India’s largest container port, Nhava Sheva. India’s director general of shipping found the bulk carrier at fault.
