Container volumes for 2005 increased 11 percent to 1.6 million TEUs. A total of 34.6 million tons of cargo were handled at the Texas port last year, a 6 percent increase from 2004. Container tonnage increased 9 percent to 15 million tons, the authority said.
The authority also reported operating revenue of $154.9 million, up 13 percent over last year’s previous best.
