CEVA Logistics will expand its market presence in the Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada area, occupying a 53,189-square-foot facility in Richmond, BC from March 1. The non-asset based supply chain management company said in a statement the new location “is positioned near Vancouver International Airport, the Port of Vancouver – Canada’s largest port – and major road arteries,” and “increases CEVA’s operational footprint in the Vancouver market by more than 60 percent.”
CEVA said the Richmond facility will provide a significant increase in square footage, dock doors and trailer parking space, as well as a container yard for ocean freight storage and 2,500 racking locations.
The company will offer air and ground freight management and consolidation, global ocean NVOCC – full container load (FCL) and less-than-container load (LCL) – ocean import, brokerage, value-added services, warehousing, distribution and sector-specific services for automotive, technology, consumer and retail, industrial and other markets from the new location.
UTi Worldwide Inc. opened new facilities in Port Klang and Kuantan, Malaysia. The supply chain services and solutions provider said it has combined its former offices in Kuala Lumpur and Port Klang into a new facility featuring the latest technology.
“Our growth in footprint and investment in this new facility in Port Klang and our new office in Kuantan reflect the momentum that our business in Malaysia has seen over the last two years,” said Ditlev Blicher, president of freight forwarding at UTi, in a statement from the company. “Some of this is coming from our strategic interest in expanding into the oil, gas and energy market and another is coming from our belief in the long-term economy and role Malaysia will play in the ASEAN Economic Community in the long term.”
