Zim said the surcharge “is required to cover extraordinary seasonal costs associated with anticipated cargo surges, as announced by the TSA (Transpacific Stabilization Agreement), and in order to maintain our current levels of service and reliability.”
For the trade from Asia to Canada, Zim said on June 15 it will implement a $600 charge on 40-foot containers. It said on other equipment sizes the charges will be $480 per 20-foot, $675 per 40-foot high-cube, and $760 per 45-foot container.
