Volga-Dnepr orders five Boeing 747-8 freighters, options five more Russia’s Volga-Dnepr Group has signed a contract for five new Boeing 747-8F freighters with options for five more. No financial details were disclosed.
   The aircraft will be delivered to Volga-Dnepr’s scheduled cargo airline, AirBridge Cargo, from February 2010 through 2013.
   “Our order with Boeing for delivery of these brand new freighters makes a benchmark of major importance for Volga-Dnepr, as it facilitates the successful achievement of the company’s strategic corporate goal — to become the fastest-growing company rated among top 20 leaders of the global air cargo market,” said Alexey Isaikin, Volga-Dnepr’s president.
   Starting in November, AirBridge Cargo will also start operations on the first of three Boeing 747-400 Extended Range Freighters, under lease arrangements with GE Commercial Aviation Services and Guggenheim Partners.
   Meanwhile, Volga-Dnepr has agreed to provide Boeing with ad-hoc and urgent air logistics services throughout the program life cycle of the mid-size 787 aircraft
