MSC amends two Pacific services

MSC amends two Pacific services    Mediterranean Shipping Co. has added a weekly call at Busan to its Asia/Mexican West Coast/U.S. East Coast “Transpacific Pendulum Service” and ended a weekly Busan call on its Asia/California “Pearl River Express” loop.
   Unlike the “Pearl River” service, MSC’s “pendulum” service does not call eastbound at the congested ports of Southern California, when all carriers are experiencing delays.
   The revised rotation of the “pendulum” service is Tokyo, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Yantian, Ningbo, Busan, Manzanillo (Mexico), Freeport (Bahamas), Miami, New York, Savannah, Freeport, Manzanillo, Long Beach and back to Tokyo.
   The revised rotation of the “Pear River” link, a joint operation with CMA CGM, is Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Yantian, Long Beach, Oakland, Xiamen, Chiwan, Hong Kong and Yantian. This means the entire capacity of the 8,000-TEU ships employed in the “Pearl River” service is dedicated to Chinese ports including Hong Kong.
