Emirates joins Hyundai China/India loop    Emirates Shipping Line said Tuesday it will start buying slots on a Hyundai Merchant Marine-operated service linking China and India.
   Hyundai's CIX service has a rotation of Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Singapore and Busan. It's operated with five 2,200-TEU Hyundai vessels. Maersk Line and NYK intra-Asia subsidiary TSK Line are slot buyers on the service (TSK Line will be folded into the NYK Container Line brand on Nov. 1).
   Emirates' participation on the CIX starts Oct. 14.
   American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data said Emirates already operates or buy slots on three services between the Far East and the Indian Subcontinent.
   It operates a standalone AFA service between Southeast Asia, Colombo, and connecting to East Africa; and its seven-ship Hyper Galex service connects China and Southeast Asia with Colombo, Mumbai, Pipavav and Middle East ports (a service on which CMA CGM, OOCL and TSK Line buy slots).
   Emirates also buy slots on TSK Line's six-ship HLS service, which connects ports in Japan and Southeast Asia with Karachi, Mumbai and Colombo.
