Globe Express opens in Miami, expands in China    Globe Express Services has opened an office in Miami and expanded its presence in China with facilities opened in Guangzhou and Suzhou.
   The Charlotte, N.C.-based logistics services provider said these openings mark the first step of a plan to expand its office network from 42 to 50 by the end of 2011.
   'By setting up shop in Miami, we provide that direct service link between Latin America, the Caribbean and the rest of the countries we already serve,' said Tony Bikhazi, GES president for the Americas, in a statement. The Miami location will allow GES to focus on the Latin American region, particularly in markets such as Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Peru.
   The additional offices in China bring GES's total number of in-country locations to 10.
   'We have added a Guangzhou office to strengthen our network in southern China, and a Suzhou office to further develop our coverage in various industries, such as high tech, automotive, textiles, chemicals and pharmaceuticals,' said Georges Mejaes, GES's president of Asia Pacific and Indian Subcontinent. 'We are also providing logistics services for key chemical companies, and working to build our dangerous goods distribution network in China.'
