Mercedes promotes FleetBoard in Ireland

   FleetBoard, a European provider of vehicle logistics management systems, will be marketed throughout Ireland by the Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles devision.
   FleetBoard’s fleet management system is supported by pre-installed hardware on the new Mercedes-Benz Actros, a heavy duty truck first introduced by Mercedes-Benz in the early 1990s. FleetBoard will tailor its three main services specifically to the truck for efficiency and reduce costs.
   The company estimates FleetBoard can reduce fuel costs by 5 percent to 10 percent when activated.
   Mercedes-Benz is offering a four-month free trial of the FleetBoard software for new Actros buyers.
   FleetBoard has also developed an app that provides access to its vehicle, logistics, and time management services so monitor a fleet. The app lets users optimize trips from any location and update them throughout daily activities. The app also works with on-board software, like that in the Actros, to provide messaging and instructions to drivers.
