Agility buying South Chinese ocean forwarder

Agility buying South Chinese ocean forwarder Kuwait-based logistics firm Agility has agreed to acquire Guangzhou Runtong International Transportation Co. Ltd. (GRITCL), which is primarily focused on ocean freight forwarding services in Guangdong.    Financial details of the deal were withheld.
   The South China company has 138 employees working across six provinces in China, and has branch offices in Guangxi, Sichuan, Fujian, Yunnan and Chongqing.
   Once the acquisition is complete, Agility, formerly known as PWC Logistics, will have 14 offices in China with operations directed from its China headquarters in Guangzhou.
   “By integrating GRITCL into our global network, we have extended our reach into the region and enhanced our service offering,” said Wolfgang Hollermann, Agility’s chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific region. “Going forward we plan to invest in the expansion of GRITCL and its range of services to include air freight and logistics solutions for our customers in south China.”
