MAERSK SEALAND TO MAINTAIN WEEKLY ASIA/SOUTH AFRICA SERVICE    Maersk Sealand said that it will maintain a weekly shipping service between the Far East and Southern Africa, despite the withdrawal next April of P&O Nedlloyd from the six-carrier Safari vessel-sharing agreement.
   Maersk Sealand, its sister company Safmarine, “K” Line, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Malaysia International Shipping Corp. have operated the joint Safari service, of which P&O Nedlloyd was a major partner.
   Maersk Sealand said that negotiations with the remaining Safari service member lines “are progressing well and it is anticipated that the current round of discussions will be concluded with a membership profile similar to the present, but without P&O    Nedlloyd.”
   P&O Nedlloyd plans to merge its Asia/Southern Africa and Asia/East Coast of South America services within a single weekly service.
