BluJay acquires last mile mobility solutions provider

BluJay, the new brand for merged supply chain software companies Kewill and LeanLogistics, has purchased a United Kingdom-based maker of mobile tracking and shipment notification solutions.    Supply chain software and managed services provider BluJay Solutions said Tuesday it has acquired mobility-focused logistics solutions provider Blackbay for an undisclosed amount.
   Blackbay specializes in shipment tracking and proof-of-delivery capture.
   “Intelligent mobility solutions have become an indispensable part of delivering a world-class experience for our customers and their customers,” BluJay Solutions CEO Doug Braun said. “Adding Blackbay to our Global Trade Network is a highly valuable and ideal extension of BluJay’s offering, expanding customers’ visibility into the supply chain and each stage of delivery.”
   Blackbay’s platform connects shippers, operations, management, drivers and end customers with real-time last-mile data. The company is based in the United Kingdom with offices in Australia and New Zealand, and has partnered with BluJay for nearly a year with a “significant customer in Asia,” the companies said.
   The solution will be integrated with BluJay’s global team. The company said it plans to offer customers the ability to develop their own branded, crowd-sourced home delivery network powered by a combination of its transportation management and mobile solutions. The technology will essentially become BluJay’s mobile app platform across its entire Global Trade Network suite.
   BluJay is the new brand of Kewill and LeanLogistics, logistics software providers that merged last year when LeanLogistics’ parent company sold the company to Kewill.
