Multiple ocean carriers join CKYHE Asia-ECNA loop

Ocean carrier ZIM, along with CMA CGM and its subsidiary line Delmas, joined the CKYHE Alliance’s AUE/AWE8 between Asia and the United States East Coast loop as slot purchasers.    Ocean carriers ZIM, along with CMA CGM and its subsidiary line Delmas, began purchasing slots on  the CKYHE Alliance’s AUE/AWE8 loop.
   ZIM joined with the Dec. 23 sailing of the Ever Libra from New York, dubbing it the ZTU, according to the Israeli carrier’s online service schedules.
   CMA CGM and Delmas, which refer to the loop as the Taiwan Strait, joined with the Dec. 30 westbound voyage of the Hanjin Baltimore from Xiamen and with the Dec. 30 eastbound voyage of the COSCO Germany from New York, according to the carriers’ online service schedules.
   The AUE/AWE8 has a rotation of Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, New York, Norfolk, Savannah and Xiamen.
   A total of 11 vessels with an average capacity of 8,326 TEUs operate on the service, according to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting.
   Members of the CKYHE Alliance – COSCO, “K” Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin and Evergreen Line – provide all but one of the vessels on the AUE/AWE8, which is provided by CSCL. Evergreen Line provides five vessels, Hanjin provides three vessels and COSCO provides two vessels.
   In sum, 19 carriers deploy capacity across a total of 23 container services that serve the Asia to U.S. East Coast trade, according to data gathered by BlueWater Reporting’s Capacity Report and Carrier Trade Route Deployment Report applications. These 23 loops combined deploy 131,252 TEUs a week from Asia to the U.S. East Coast. The AUE/AWE8 is one of the seven loops dedicated to the trade, meaning it does not call any other regions.
