Asian airlines’ freight growth below capacity rise    Statistics provided by the Kuala Lumpur-based Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) show freight traffic for its 17 member airlines grew slower than cargo capacity in the month of September.
   The AAPA said international freight traffic was up 1.9 percent while capacity increased 4.1 percent, resulting in a 1.4-percent drop in freight load factor, to 66.2 percent.
   For the first nine months, air freight for the AAPA airlines was up 3.3 percent compared to the same period last year. The average freight load factor for the Asian airlines was down 1.6 percent to 65.5 percent.
   AAPA airlines are: Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, Dragonair, EVA Airways, Garuda Indonesia, Japan Airlines, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Philippines Airlines, Qantas Airways, Royal Brunei Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways International and Vietnam Airlines.
