Savi Tech equipment part of U.S. Army order

Savi Tech equipment part of U.S. Army order Equipment featuring radio-frequency identification technology developed by Mountain View, Calif.-based Savi Technology is part of a nearly $3 million U.S. Army order for mobile satellite transceivers.
   Comtech Telecommunications Corp. said recently its Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp., received orders totaling $2.8 million under its Movement Tracking System, or MTS contract, with the U.S. Army. Total orders received to date against the $418.2 million MTS contract increased to $398.7 million.
   The orders are for the supply of various products and services including Comtech’s MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers, ruggedized control station computers, technical support services and miscellaneous system components for MTS, Army National Guard and Force XXI Battle Command Brigade and Below, or FBCB2.
   Comtech’s Model MT-2012 mobile satellite transceivers feature embedded radio frequency identification technology, including Savi Technology’s EchoPoint RFID Reader, as well as secure global positioning system capabilities.
