Camas-Washougal port director position down to two finalists

Camas-Washougal port director position down to two finalists The shortlist for the new executive director for the Port of Camas-Washougal has been narrowed to two candidates with port management experience.
David Ripp, executive director at the Washington state Port of Woodland, and Patricia Stryker, a medical health center manager who served for 18 years as an executive with the City and Port of Vancouver, are vying for the Camas-Washougal leadership position.
The policy-setting three-member commission for the port will announce their selection at their regular meeting on Dec. 17.
The incoming executive director will replace Interim Executive Director Byron Hanke, who has been serving in the role since the sudden and unexplained resignation of 22-year Executive Director Sheldon Tyler.
The new executive director will take the helm of a staff of 13 with a 2008 budget of $5.6 million. The Camas-Washougal port, located near the Washington state port of Vancouver on the Columbia River, includes an airport as well as commercial maritime and recreational facilities.

Ripp, 41, a former bank manager from Stockton, Calif., has overseen the Woodland port’s 200-acre industrial park since 1994.
Stryker, 63, is the director of development and community relations for Columbia River Mental Health Services in Vancouver, and a former executive director of the YWCA of Clark County. Previously she served eight years as property manager for the City of Vancouver and prior to that as property and development director for the Port of Vancouver for 10 years.
