Institute expands CPSM eligibility

   The Institute for Supply Management has expanded the eligibility requirements for its Certified Professional in Supply Management program to allow interested parties without a college degree.
   Applicants without a degree must have years of work experience to qualify for certification; degree-holders only need three years of experience. Both types of applicants must pass a series of CPSM exams or the bridge test for current certified purchasing managers.
   If an applicant already holds a CPM designation, they have to only pass one CPSM test, regardless of their degree status
   “The expanded CPSM eligibility requirements acknowledge the value of the expertise practitioners acquire with experience,” Thomas Derry, ISM’s chief exeutive officer, said in a statement. “A broader range of procurement and supply chain practitioners now have the opportunity to possess a globally recognized credential to strengthen their position in the global marketplace.” – Jon Ross
