New Indian subcontinent service to call Savannah With the India trade market growing rapidly, a vessel-sharing partnership that includes Hanjin Shipping, 'K' Line, Yang Ming Line, and United Arab Shipping Co. are starting a new service between the Indian subcontinent and the U.S. East Coast, including a call at Savannah that will be marketed for shippers in Florida.
   Both Hanjin and 'K' Line have Miami offices that work closely with their Savannah offices, while Yang Ming and UASC have southern region offices in Savannah.
   The new weekly service, which also connects from Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean, will begin in late November, a joint statement from the carriers said. Each carrier will deploy two vessels with capacities in the 3,500- to 4,000-twenty-foot-equivalent range. The port rotation will be Singapore, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Port Said, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore.
