Maryland DOT moves to sell Baltimore World Trade Center    The Maryland Transportation Department is seeking a commercial real estate broker to help it with the sale of the World Trade Center building in downtown Baltimore.
   The Maryland Port Administration, a division of the state DOT, concluded that the sale would benefit it financially. “Returning this building to the city and state tax rolls and allowing the MPA to focus on its core mission of increasing waterborne commerce is a win-win for all,” said Maryland Transportation Secretary Robert L. Flanagan in a statement Wednesday.
   The agency will release its broker request May 3. A pre-proposal conference will be held at the Maryland DOT headquarters May 20. Proposals are due to the agency by June 3. The Maryland DOT will conclude its broker selection in the fall with final sale of the building sometime in 2006 (For more information, contact Mark Pemberton at (410) 865-1121).
   The 30-story Baltimore World Trade Center was built in 1977. It includes 263,000 leasable square feet, the Maryland DOT said.
