Amerijet selects Montella to head cargo operations

Amerijet selects Montella to head cargo operations Amerijet, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based air cargo operator in the Caribbean and Central America, named FedEx and DHL veteran Lou Montella vice president of cargo services.
   Montella spent 26 years with FedEx and DHL, where he was in charge of the express carrier’s gateway hub at JFK International Airport in New York. Immediately prior to joining Amerijet, Montella was vice president of airline relations, alliances and supplier development for Global Delivery Systems in New York.
   Amerijet operates 10 aircraft with the recent addition of two 727s to its fleet. In addition to its primary line of business, it also has entered the ocean freight business in recent years as a non vessel operating common carrier.
