INTERMARINE ADDS TWO SPECIALTY SHIPS

INTERMARINE ADDS TWO SPECIALTY SHIPS    Intermarine has added two ships to its specialized breakbulk fleet.
“Although the overall market for project transport remains depressed, the diverse characteristics of project cargo is as broad as ever,” said Roger Kavanagh, president of the New Orleans-based carrier. “To participate in the total project market, one cannot limit their ships to one type or set of vessels.”
The Condock III is a 4,400-deadweight-ton combination roll-on/roll-off and float-on/float-off vessel with dual 63 metric ton cranes. “The ship is ideal for yachts, tugboats, and modules and can successfully load at facilities primarily designed for barge operations,” the company said.
The Industrial Leader is a 4,000-deadweight-ton box hold heavy lift ship with dual 60 metric ton cranes and special heeling pump capacity to stabilize the vessel when handling heavy lifts. The vessel’s 88.4 meter length and fully laden draft of six meters allows it to work at limited terminal facilities, Intermarine said.
Intermaine’s global sailings include regularly scheduled services between the United States and Mexico and the Americas, Asia and other overseas destinations.
